Wars have become something so common in the recorded history of humankind, that many accept it as something natural to human beings. The history books teach us that we are naturally designed for such an extreme form of hatred and that perhaps we even need it for our evolution. In this article, I will challenge that, in my opinion, completely false idea, and I will also suggest a route out of the war in the most general sense of the word.
Killing is not natural
As I have mentioned many times in other articles, planet Earth has gone through a very long dark age (kali yuga, iron age). The last thousands of years have been a period where we all fell into a state of unconscious, driven by survival and primitive mechanisms of our animal-self. In fear and hatred, we have gone through many dark events that have only increased our state of ignorance, our separation from Love.
So, we cannot make arguments with the recorded history, because, it has been very extreme times. According to the astrological calendars of all ancient civilizations, there had been many peaceful and enlightened cultures in the previous hundreds of thousands of years (if not more) long story of mankind. In these times, humans weren’t t reduced to mechanical possibilities of their physical bodies like nowadays but were much more spiritual, capable of great deeds, so they didn’t need to kill.
Love is the true nature, the true identity of all beings, and human is no exception. When a being is fully immersed in the existence of Love, he or she is fully satisfied, without any need for external compensation, or agressiveness. The only problem is that we are separated from Love for a very, very long time.
The battle is inside of you
Wars between nations are the utmost expressions and manifestations of something that is happening within the inner world of every individual. That is the very basic principle we all have to understand. We are directly responsible for wars or peace on the planet, not mainly through our actions, but through our inner state. Knowing that, we should not wait for some politicians whether they are going to do something about the wars. We all should start to take responsibility for our lives and stop the inner war.
In psychoanalytic terminology, there are only two inner instincts, or principles that are driving the human psyche: Eros (positive principle of creativity) and Thanatos (negative principle of destruction). Now, look at yourself, examine yourself with all honesty, and ask yourself which principle is the more dominant one. Why do I watch all the violent movies? Why am I interested in the news full of negativity? Why am I so interested in weapons, fighting sports, and violence in general? Why do I have problems with my neighbors, colleagues, my friends, and family?
The wars between nations are possible only because, collectively, the more dominant principle is the destructive one. That’s also the fundamental reason why the rain forests are being wiped out, animals being killed for their furs, claws, or meat, why so many families are troubled, etc. – because the psychological instinct that strives for death is the more dominant one. Of course, it will always provide masking arguments (money, survival, territory, etc.) so it can continue its destruction with the blind agreement of most participants.
It´s time to change yourself
The following years will possibly unveil the hidden reality of humankind. It will also force us to an inevitable inner change. Only if we truly start to choose the path of Love and transcend the principle of Death will we establish a harmonious and peaceful society on planet Earth. Finally, we have approached times when we can make the change. Finally, we have approached times where not hypnotized masses will decide but awakened individuals.
If you really want to do something for yourself, your family, friends, and the whole world, then embark yourself on a journey of deep inner-work. If you manage to localize your inner conflicts, you are one step away from ending the real war forever. The more peace you establish within, the more peace you will find around you.
