The idea of the resurrection of the dead is depicted mainly in mythical and legendary stories and can be found in various fantasy books or movies. The legends are usually centered around a superhuman who manages to escape death through his magical or special abilities. It is still part of some religions to believe that a certain individual managed to achieve resurrection three earthly days after his death. Other beliefs are pointing to the future when all the dead people should be raised back to life.
Just like in every legend, fairytale, or fantasy writing, the symbolism that we find reflects some archetypal or inner truths, truths that symbolize something about each one of us. The idea of resurrection is no exception. So, what is the nature of inner or psycho-spiritual resurrection and how is it linked to each of us?
Life and Death can be viewed in many different ways. Spiritually speaking, they represent two polarities or “vibrational regions” of our inner world. A spiritually “dead” being is fully trapped in the world of physical illusion and is fully identified with artificial programs of physical ego. In such cases, Soul identity is fully buried under many layers of traumas/sins and so the person is driven by fearful self-defensive mechanisms that create his or her hidden inner prison. The energy of Life doesn´t permeate such a person. As a result, the individual is forced to be attached to perishable pleasures of the physical body that masks inner emptiness and discomfort. A physical body, when disconnected from the Source of Life, becomes a tomb, a prison that separates us from true reality, true knowledge, true understanding of who we are, from Love. From this point of view, most people are “spiritually dead” at least to a certain degree, most of us are waiting for a process of resurrection.
The process of resurrection begins when the Soul finds enough spiritual strength to arise from the darkness and so the whole being is gradually revived. Such a Soul has lived for long ages far away from the spiritual Source of Light (God) and is being pulled “back home” by the mentioned superior spiritual entity.
A fully resurrected person is a fully enlightened individual who managed to transcend the physical illusion (Maya) and reconnected his Soul with the Light. All dark residues have been transformed into the energy of Love. Such a person has become his truest and highest version, being of light, Angelus. His inner and outer worlds collapsed into one singular consciousness (end of duality).
Resurrection is thus another perspective on spiritual awakening, spiritual ascension, or return back to the heavenly land.
