One of the great challenges of the Awakening is to start to leave old patterns, behaviors, or systems of false beliefs. We realize that some knowledge is useless on the “new life journey”. But especially when it comes to our religious beliefs, it is twice harder. For so long we’ve been used to the certain ritualistic attitude, dogmas, or superficial interpretations, we were taught in the church.

To an awakened individual, the old system of faith doesn´t serve well anymore. We start to feel that it is even an obstacle. It provides an insufficient point of view that doesn’t meet the depths of our new transcendent experiences. We feel there is way more to spirituality than we were told. So, what do we do? It is hard to leave all the good friends we have in the church and follow a path of a lonely spiritual seeker. Maybe there is another way. Maybe we can respect the old religious beliefs and understand them from a wider point of view. Or do we have to first leave the religious society to gain wisdom and some level of enlightenment, so we can one day come back and shine our Light on others to help them wake up? Well, everyone is a unique individual, so everyone has a different path. Only I can know what’s right for me, no one else.

The most important thing to do is to decide to review and update our spiritual belief system and knowledge. Because our path is paved by knowledge. The true Christians, Buddhists, and Muslims of the original teachings (before it became religion) were great mystics with a complex understanding of what we call today “sacred knowledge”. They were great alchemists; they knew how to dissolve the coal and turn it into a shiny diamond. They were great shamans, so they knew the right psychedelic recipes to induce altered states of consciousness to accelerate their growth and healing. It is obvious they knew the “Spiritual Light/Christ” dwells within every single human, and they were finding ways how to merge with this inner sphere of existence. And so, these are the directions we follow when we experience the spiritual inner call. The main questions are: How to let the “individual Christ” shine through my physical presence? How do I strengthen my spiritual connection with my Higher Self, the individual representation of God, the source of my Light?

So, this is the main difference between religion and spirituality. In religion, we are taught there was only one special guy who achieved something no one else could ever achieve. But in spirituality, we find out everyone can achieve the very same state of consciousness because everyone has the individual Christ/Light within. In spirituality, I understand that only I can be the savior of my Life and I don’t have to wait for any parent/savior figure. In spirituality, we can start to spiritually grow and reach our higher potential. In spirituality, we need no institutions that will tell us what to do, we realize the direct connection with the Light within. Moreover, Christ/Light is the most real nature of who we are. It seems the most natural to become the “Christ-like” enlightened being because that is how we truly look in God’s eyes! God always sees us through this Light, so we are perfect in his eyes. In spirituality, we start to see through God’s eyes.

It’s time to be spiritual!
