7 paths of love

By

Love rejuvenates and heals our physical bodies, so dwelling in Love makes me healthy. Love is the true inner power, so Love heals my inferiority complex and empowers me. Love fills the emptiness of my Soul, so I feel naturally rich, without an addictive need to collect material possessions. Love erases the illusion of separation and connects all people in harmony. Love brings peace to my mind, and so stops all the conflicts and wars. Love also unveils my higher potential, so I can grow to the fullness of myself. Love connects me with God, so I don´t need any external institution as a mediator of the spiritual realm. Love brings true abundance, peace, cooperation and friendship, harmony. So, the question is: Do we need something else than Love? Do we really need all the possessions? Is it wise to follow all physical/egoic desires knowing that it isn´t the right path to Love? Truly, Love is all we need.

The second logical question is: How to achieve Love? First, we need to understand that Love is an intelligent divine energy that dwells within us. We have (humankind) significantly disconnected from this living essence and so we must find a way back to connect again.

From a philosophical point of view, we are trying to listen to Love and transform our lives based on her laws. We are following many human laws, usually based on fear, which is the opposite of Love. It is thus a great path to start to invite Love into our lives. The more we follow the laws of Love; the more Love can enter through our physical bodies into this world.

There is only one path for every Good Man: the path of Love. However, such a path is made of many other paths. Just like a river is made of smaller streams, the path to Love consists of many smaller roads.

In this brief article, I will describe 7 paths of Love that must be walked to open the energetical channels to the force of Life. The seven paths of Love are wisdom, humility, altruism, sexual purity, peace, freedom, and adulthood. These are the seven basic psychological characteristics of Love. Love is wise, humble, altruistic, pure, peaceful, and adult and she also brings freedom. So, these are the characteristics that we must cultivate to grow Love within. Let´s dive into their general description.

Path of Wisdom

The first path is the path of wisdom. After all, the original meaning of the word “philosophy” can be translated as “love of wisdom”. So, we can see that Love and wisdom are intertwined. If we begin to love wisdom and prioritize it over “cleverness”, cunning intellect, or the calculations of the mechanical intellect, we will fill our hearts with peace and deeper awareness.

Wisdom enables consciousness to perceive the world from a non-dual perspective. While ego-consciousness can perceive only a “one-sided” version of the truth, a wise person can synthesize seemingly contrary ideas or perspectives. Wisdom allows us to see both sides of the coin. There is no good or bad anymore. With wisdom, we are thankful for all challenges and understand them as great gifts. That is one of many basic principles of wisdom.

Path of humility

One of the greatest virtues and manifestations of wisdom is humility. The developed virtue of humility points to the subtlety of the ego, and therefore to the permeability of Love through the physical vehicle. Through humility, the spiritual knight rejects the efforts of pride to glorify his great deeds and achievements. A humble knight understands that he is a mere instrument of a higher power. He thus bows down even before the smallest human being, for he sees the Light of divinity in him. It is the divine Light to which a true Knight serves.

Path of sexual purity

Love is the pure essence of Life. It is sexual energy that creates worlds. It also allows human beings to give life to babies. It is thus important to purify and develop our sexual energy, our fantasies, and sexual behavior in general.

The sexuality of an adult, wise, free or altruistic person is built on a very different basis than the sexuality of an ordinary person in our society. Such people are great lovers in the general sense of the word. Sex is a sacred union of Love for them, through which they experience a deep mental and spiritual connection with their partner. The orgasms of a spiritually developed person have a spiritual dimension.

So, it’s not just about the primary satisfaction of the physical animal impulses. Sexual energy “when properly handled” brings partners to an altered state of consciousness. Even this form of altered state of consciousness has a therapeutic effect, as it deepens the person. Sexual practice in this deeper sense provides peak or mystical experiences, that is, consciousness-expanding experiences.

The path of sexual purity is to develop our sexuality and purify it based on the Laws of Love.

Path of Freedom

Many people list freedom as one of the most important, if not the most important, principles in life. The idea that we are the masters of our lives, that there is no binding or limiting influence, determines one of the main engines of our growth. However, a person striving for independence must first understand the very nature of true freedom.  He must also see his prison to embark on the path of liberation. We often think that we are free, without understanding the depth of this principle. A prisoner who lives in the false belief of his freedom cannot logically strive for liberation.

True freedom a priori does not mean having the opportunity to vote in so-called democratic elections, to choose from hundreds of types of chocolate, or travel to limitless destinations around the world. True freedom begins with ending the domination of the negative psycho-spiritual forces (forces of ego-matter) over our consciousness, which binds us to a false idea of ourselves and the whole being. Hand in hand with the untying of invisible inner shackles, we observe the outer reins also loosen. A fully free (enlightened) person could theoretically live his whole life locked in one room and would live a meaningful, beautiful life since he is not limited by his physical body. External freedom or independence begins with inner freedom.

Path of adulthood

The expansion of Love also results in psychological maturity. As long as we live in the perspective of the ego, our life view is entirely childlike. The psyche of the ego-man is thus set egocentrically, i.e. “I receive and the world provides”, just as a small child expects an automatic supply of nutrients from its mother’s breast. However, the essence of Love is deeper, and getting to know Love means learning about true maturity. Love doesn’t compare, she doesn’t judge, she doesn’t need to argue or compete with anyone, Love doesn’t envy or sue someone. Love is independent, healthy, and mature. The more I become Love, the more I am a mature person.

Path of altruism

Altruism is the essential character of Love. Love, by its very nature, can do nothing but take care, give, help or heal. All this without any primary need for some sort of profiteering. Love is a being of an altruistic spirit. To state that pure altruism does not exist is the same as saying that Love does not exist.

The principles of altruism are an important area of contemplation for the awakening individual. An awakening person internally transforms and arises from the self-centric level of man-animal toward his higher and true form of man-angel. By recognizing and prioritizing the altruistic drive, we embark on this angelic path.

An altruist is every tree or flower that takes what it needs for life but provides much more for others. Let´s be like trees.

Path of peace

The ultimate manifestation of Love’s “victory” is peace. Love has no interest in any kind of war. Through the eyes of Love, we understand that there is no real reason for wars between people. The main reason for wars is wars themselves.

However, every Psychologist understands that it is impossible to achieve external peace without ending the internal war. The fact that we wage smaller or larger wars among ourselves is a manifestation of the troubled state of our inner world. Such knowledge is a tremendous advantage and also the beginning of the path to inner peace. After all, we cannot end the war if we falsely believe that we live in peace. As soon as peace spreads in our Soul, we share this vibration with outer space as well.
