7 levels of acceptance

By

The art of acceptance plays a significant role in our growth. To not accept something or someone means we are unaware of an important fragment of ourselves, or in other words, we are denying ourselves.

Acceptance is usually a long-term process that needs time and active contemplation. We can’t accept our feminine or shadow self during one meditation. The human psyche is very complex, and we must explore it step by step, synthetizing fragment by fragment.

In the following text, I will introduce the internal and external areas of acceptance.

Level 1 – Spiritual elements

The very first realization concerns the four spiritual elements, the Good and Evil, the Feminine and Masculine energies.

It is still common, that good men and women are unaware of the Dark Self. It is the basic strategy of the Shadow to hide and manipulate our consciousness from behind the veil. Great courage and spiritual strength are needed to expand the awareness toward the phenomenon of inner Evil. That is where the true Awakening begins.

The same logic is applied to masculine and feminine principles. Men are unaware, ashamed, or denying their feminine unconscious energy, so the inner Woman is stunted. And so, the women are denying their masculine unconscious principle. As a result, we are blaming our partner for his or her faults and imperfections, not realizing that we are seeing only the mirror of our inner counter-sex.

Level 2 – Inner animal

On the lower level of our personality, we are all animals. Every human Soul consists of this “primitive” animal level. It is very profound to identify the type of our inner animal. Am I a bird, cow, lion, sloth or snake, elephant, etc.? The character of the animal creates the basic, primitive, level of our personality, so it helps us to know ourselves better.

The important part of our growth toward the 4th level (level of maturity) is to accept the fact that we are partially animals. From this point of view, there is nothing wrong with masturbating, having second thoughts, enjoying all kinds of earthly pleasures, etc. Because we are denying the animal nature of the psyche, we are ashamed of it, masking it with all kinds of “civilized” attitudes, religious moralizing, exalted behaviors, etc. To arise higher, it is crucial to fully embrace our inner animal. If we manage to turn off our “superego”, we will be able to enjoy all pleasures without shame or guilt. The inner animal must be tamed but also understood, so it serves us with its great instinctual energy.

We don’t have to be worried about our small addictions if we have the will to grow to a more mature state of consciousness. A person who is growing will enter many different stages throughout his or her life, and the lower needs will be replaced by activating the higher Love.

Level 3 – Inner child

The third dimension is represented by the infantile or childish consciousness of the inner child. One level above our inner animal, there is a more evolved complex of the child. Since puberty, we are ashamed of our infantility, and we start to create masks of adulthood. If we carefully look at the civilization that we have built, we can immediately see that our psycho-spiritual evolution ends at this level. A world full of cars, ice-creams, fast foods, cinemas, and other entertainment is surely not a product of an adult mind. Let’s accept the fact that we are psychologically children, so we can begin the real growth to maturity.

Just like all children, even our child requires a lot of attention, and we must become good parents to it. The fact of how much we are spoiling young infants is showing how much dominance has our inner children over our consciousness. When our inner children become more subtle, even our relationship with children changes.

Level 4 – adult human

Level four is our current ambition and aspiration. On this level, the consciousness escapes from infantile and egoistic chains of ego and turns its attention to others (the beginning of altruism). Truly adult humans are great Parents, Friends, Sisters, and Brothers, or Lovers. All of it is with the capital letter, because it is a relationship of a different, higher kind than we are used to currently. A society made of truly adult people would be full of cooperation and common understanding. Instead of “me, me, me”, we will say “us, all together”.

On this level, we want to accept ourselves and other “adult people” in the way we are, without judgment. Unconditional thinking and love are activated here. The more we can let our Hearts decide, the more adults we become.

Level 5 – family

On this level, we enter the first collective level of our personality, the level of the family. Our biological family resembles the state of our inner family. So, what is the relationship to the family as a whole and what does it say about us?

Level 6 – Nation and humanity

On the 6th level of acceptance, we want to accept all the men and women together. That is the great task of our development. We must deeply accept even the darkest deeds or experiences of our nation and humanity, historically and currently. That is the level of great Wisdom that opens the highest level of our potential. How much do we love our nation and humanity and how much do we feel the opposite spectrum of feelings toward them?

Level 7 – God

The final acceptance is the most exalted and complicated. The complete acceptance of the totality comes with the final stages of Enlightenment. Those who claim they know, and love God are not aware of their unconscious fear and even hate it. It was Creator who made us torture and it is only the Creator who can explain the great reasons behind all Evil. First, we have to find out that we are the Creator.
